Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Fresh tropical flavor – Sweet pineapple blended into a creamy and refreshing smoothie.
  • Quick and easy – Made in just a few minutes with simple everyday ingredients.
  • Creamy without being heavy – The banana adds a smooth texture without overpowering the pineapple flavor.

Ingredients you need

  • Frozen pineapple: Use frozen pineapple chunks for a thick, cold and refreshing pineapple smoothie with the best tropical flavor.
  • Banana: A ripe frozen banana makes the smoothie naturally creamy and balances the tangy pineapple taste.
  • Milk: Use dairy milk, almond milk, oat milk or coconut milk depending on the flavor and texture you like.
  • Vanilla extract: A small splash of vanilla adds a softer and smoother flavor to the smoothie.
  • Honey: Adds extra sweetness if your pineapple is slightly tart or not very ripe. Maple syrup also works well.

Add-In Ideas

  • Greek yogurt: Makes the pineapple smoothie creamier and adds protein.
  • Coconut milk: Gives the smoothie a more tropical and creamy flavor.
  • Mango chunks: Perfect for a mango pineapple smoothie variation.
  • Orange juice: Adds a brighter citrus flavor and a thinner texture.
  • Chia seeds: Easy way to add fiber and make the smoothie more filling.
  • Spinach: Blends easily into the smoothie for a green smoothie version without changing the flavor too much.

Tips Before You Start

  • Freeze the fruit first: Frozen pineapple and banana give the smoothie a thick and creamy texture without adding ice cubes.
  • Use ripe banana: A ripe banana adds natural sweetness and helps balance the acidity of the pineapple.
  • Adjust the milk slowly: Start with less milk for a thicker smoothie, then add more if needed.
  • Blend until smooth: Blend long enough to fully break down the pineapple pieces for the smoothest texture.
  • Serve immediately: Pineapple smoothies taste best cold and freshly blended.
